🌟 Student Engagement: Closing the Gap for At-Risk Students

In 2021, I created a simple classroom tool that helped students stay engaged and build confidence through practice questions before engaging in real-life mock interviews with adults in the school.

I’m working to enhance this tool with the latest technology:

• 🤖 Specially trained AI will respond to students’ practice interview answers with personalized feedback and encouragement.
• 🔁 Students will get multiple repetitions before the “big game”—real mock interviews with teachers, coaches, counselors, and other trusted adults.
• 🎯 The focus is on confidence, communication, and life skills that translate far beyond the classroom.

💡 Why this matters:

When learning is deeply relevant to students’ lives, engagement rises—and engagement is foundational to both safety and success. Having a “big game” or real-life interview to look forward to helps students clearly connect their daily practice with the anticipation of mastering a highly relevant life skill they know will matter.
